About Kibina

Across Rwanda, neighbours, colleagues and families pool their savings in groups often called ibimina. They meet, contribute, lend to each other and share out at the end of a cycle. The system works on trust, and the record of who paid and who owes usually lives in a single notebook.

Kibina keeps that record instead. It holds contributions, loans, fines, expenses and meeting notes in one place, with a clear financial ledger the whole group can check. The notebook can be lost or disputed. A shared, role-based record cannot go missing as easily.

The goal is simple: help groups keep an honest, durable record so members can focus on saving together rather than reconciling numbers.
